626 with a stuck CV joint
I have a 1997 626 that I am trying to replace the passenger's side cv joint. It came out of the hub without a problem, but the half shaft side will not budge. I have tried heat, penetrating fluid, hammers, pry bars, and the special slide hammer tool.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
Thanks!

I am confused how you have worded most parts of the question. The "half shaft" is the complete assembly. If the axle is free of the hub, all you have to do is use a prybar to pop it loose from the transmission. This is considering that you have broke apart the ball joint from the control arm. The "hub" is where the brake rotor is located. If you are using heat on the trans side of the axle, you can create more problems. I never knew of any special slide hammer tool to remove the axle from the trans. Is it the inner or outer joint that is stuck?
Haha, sorry. On the passenger's side the half shaft/jack shaft extends from the transmission to the mount on the block and then the drive shaft slides onto the jack shaft. This is where the drive shaft is stuck.
I bet its stuck on the circlip. I have had to use two prybars opposite of each other to apply equal pressure to the axle to remove it in the past. Here is a pic of the intermediate shaft with the circlip in question.

Those c-clips work very, very well. I am not sure how to get the two pry bars on the joint there, there is not much to pry against. I am almost ready to replace the jack shaft too...
