626 shifting hard and engine light on
I just sold the Explorer I bought for my daughter and bought her a 97 626. Very nice car and haven't had any problem until today. She drove it to her grandmothers about 45 minutes away and on the way back it started shifting hard. The engine light also came on. I drove it to see how bad it was and it is not too bad. It does go a little hard when it goes into 2nd and sometimes doesn't want to go into 3rd at the proper rpm's. Now I am not a car person so I need a little help here.
Any idea if the two are connected? The light and the shifting? I find it odd that they both happend at the same time. I did read something on here about TSB's on the transmissions needing a cooling fan or something to that nature.
What is a TSB. I know what it stands for and all but want to know if the transmission needs something that the car doesn't have or wasn't built with is this something that Mazda is fixing like on a recall?
By the way the car has 72,000 miles on it.
Hope someone will lend some knowledge.
