Default 323 with Water in trunk

I recently noticed my '92 323 is getting water in the trunk somehow. When I looked in the spare tire well there was standing water and some rust. The hatch seal seems to be fine. Does anyone know a likely spot where water could get in?

I would check the seals around the taillights. The best thing to do is have someone hose the car down while you are in it to try and locate the leak. Even if seals look ok, that does not mean much with water leaks. Water leaks can travel from the strangest places and are sometimes make you want to pull your hair out!

Yeah, that's kinda what I figured. I'm wondering where to buy new seals or if I should just use some silicone caulk to replace the seals. I can't seem to find them listed in any parts sites.

I doubt you will ever find new seals, the best thing to do is use silicone like you said. Just clean then put a light layer on the seal and reinstall.

The tail light gaskets are still available from Mazda for $13.00 each. Right side is part #B467-51-158 and only 32 left is US. Left is B467-51-168 and only 26 left. Looks like I better get some ordered cause my 91 also leaks into the trunk and have been procrastinating getting them replaced.

Man I really need one on my right side... could any one order one for me?

I mean how would I go about gettting one?

I mean can I do it online or what?

I just need one if someone could order one for me I would gladly pay for the part and shiping and handaling

Because my little 323 was getting some wather in the trunk also. and my right tail light would fog up sometimes like there was water getting in to it.

Right side is part #B467-51-158
Just go to your local Mazda dealer with this part # and have them order you one.

Well, I jumped the gun and sealed them with some silicone. We'll see if that fixes it. It's good to know the seals are available and don't cost too much. Thanks for the info on that.
