323 not charging from generator
Hello, I have an Mazda 323 1997 that has stoped to charge the battery.
I have replaced the generator and battery, but without success. I have checked so I have d+, and the charging light is working, lit up when ignition on, and disappears when engine is started.
but still no charging…
B+ cable has the same voltage as the battery.
any suggestions to my problem?
best regards
Robert

My Mazda Familia BJ3P (1999) also having same issue. We also replaced generator and battery. Problem is still same. But, we noticed when we disconnect the power cable from the B terminal of the generator and check the output of the generator, it shows 14-15V out. When connected the cable it will be equal to the battery voltage. It means no charging. We also searching for a solution. Waiting for help from a expert.
I know the last of the 626's had PCM controlled alternators, possibly the 323 had them as well.
Seen quite a few 626's with charging issues. The PCM tells the alternator when to, and how much to charge the battery.
Changing the Battery & alternator doesn't fix the problem. Only replacing or repairing the PCM fixes it.
