Hey all, I have a 2001 Mazda 323 Astina and have been trying to learn a bit more about it's workings (prompted by a couple of breakdowns). In particular I've been looking to learn more about diagnosing it. My car has a diagnostics port in the engine bay that looks like OBD1 (17 pins in one group and 10 pins in another). I've attempted to run diagnosis on those pins using the instructions here without much luck (though not sure if that's just me not doing it properly). However I've also been looking into if there's any sort of OBD2 information available. OBD2 wasn't legislated as required in my country (Australia) until 2006, so it's not a given that the car will have it. However, there is a connector in the driver's side footwell that I can't identify. I've attached an image of it below. Could anyone tell me what this connector actually is?
