Default 1999 626 EGR & MAF sensor

I had an EGR code come up for my 1999 626 I think it was P0400 or 401. So I tried to clean it....I took the EGR sensor out and fiddled with it and put it back. I noticed that the throttle body was real dirty so I removed all the air intake stuff up to and including the throttle body. I scrubbed and cleaned the throttle body around the butterfly valve area and put it all back together.

I now have an MAF code P0102. Did I mess up the MAF? I looked at the sensor which looks like two small resistors and sprayed air at it to clean it but it did not work. It will run with the sensor unplugged but is jittery on take-off's. I just want to see if anyone has any suggestions before I buy a Mass Air Flow sensor?

Did you spray air through the MAF before the new code came on or after thinking it might cure the problem? Just saying this because the MAF has a very thin and fragile wire in the center that reads the air going by. It is very easy to break this wire, in which you would have to replace the sensor.

I sprayed the air after the code came up. Maybe I broke the wire your talking about. When I pulled the sensor it looks like two sets of very small footbal goal posts that appear to have a tiny resister that connects the two posts on both sets. Is there a wire other than that?

blade that ran parallel with the sensor. If it is all in tact I would try cleaning it with electrical parts cleaner. I had to do that with mine, it would not do anything other than idle til I cleaned it.

OK....I replaced the MAF sensor and ran it down the road for about 20 minutes. No codes came up but the idle sucks. Everything apears to be running smothly except when I stop or in park the idle pulsates at about 500 to 700 rpm and acts like it wants to cut out? When I give it gas, it goes fine. I think it should idle close to 900 rpm?

Any ideas
