Hello there,

The speedometer has stopped working in my 92 323. I suspect the fuse
has gone but, as it's a Japanese import the under dash fuse box cover
is Japanese characters.

I'm specifically looking for which is the speedo fuse but a scan or diagram
showing everything would be much appreciated.

A 92 323 should be a purely mechanical system unless Japan product has a digital display or something. If it is a standard needle speedometer then you have a driven gear in the tranmission that rotates the internal portion of the speedometer cable which is then mechanically connected to the speedometer. No electronics involved except a bulb to light it up at night.
Try taking the cable off from the transmission end and turning by hand while someone watches the needle for flickering movement. Do not remember if cable needs to be turned clockwire or counterclockwise but am thinking counterclockwise.

Yes, you're correct, it's cable driven. I must have been
thinking of my old Nissan which was electronic.
