If he used a helicoil insert, and did the job properly, it will not be a problem. Incidentally, spark plugs don't come out cross-threaded; they either go in cross threaded or else they were overtorqued on installation, damaging the original threads.

Well then. That could have been me 4 years ago.

Any way. How else would someone repair a spark plug hole?
I didn't know there were "incorrect" ways to do it.

I wish I could say I watched him do it. but I can not.

Wrong, if the car was left outside to the elements, the oil could have been contaminated from the atmospheric changes and be full of humidity. Plus the working parts could be rusted above the oil line..

I talked to her father the other day(where it is kept) He did start it up a few times.
Like twice in 2 years. Drove it 30 feet.does that help? :- ) I didn't think that made much of a difference in 2 years.

Oil in a car left outside, should be brought to operating temperature. It basically allows anything that isn't oil, to become vapor and be purged out of the crank case through the PCV

I plan on an oil change prior to changing the motor mounts. I should probably change the trans gear oil too. So GL-5 should be a little bit thinner in the winter then? do you think it can wait until Aug/sept or should that be changed imidiatly. I also thought about the a Coolant flush
.

30 ft. in 2 years? Holy crap !
That thing should have been up on blocks, drained, inhibited, battery removed, the whole 9 yards. You can expect trouble on just about all fronts; tires. timing belt, drive belts, gummed up rings, water pump and alternator bearings, oil seals etc. etc. you name it you got it.
Better think of this as a restoration project and weigh the 280,000 mi. on the clock before deciding if it's even worth it.

Well. unfortunately. That didn't happen. It was not suppose to be off the road more than 6 months. Unfortunately, we did not have the money for the motor mounts and tires it needed then. We are down a car. Now and it has moved up the priority list. funds are tight. I know that there is alots the need to be done because it was out for so long;since it was not storage-erized. There will be problems. I need some help prioritizing. we have little funding, I would like to know what my priorities should be..
Right now i have
1. Engine Oil Chane.
2. Install 3 motor mounts 1 Trans mount
3. Install Passenger outer tie rod.
4. install some new tires. If not sunrotted. (tall grass grew around it)

I want to do other tuneups. I want to have the compression checked. But I don;t know how the crosses plug was "repaired".
I want to check the timing, but I don't have a timing light or a Tach.
I want to clean the IACV. But have not found it.
I want to replaced the Trans oil if it is a good idea.

I need suggestions. I am great with a wrench, but alot of these repairs will occor over time, as she needs this car for Monday.

I do appreciate any and all input.

I am also leaning towards a "Problematic Chain Of Events"

I believe that you will eventually get it running, then one by one, things will start to leak out or start to fail, leaving you with a constant nightmare.

I suggest getting a used car for $100.00/month.

If you now add the cost of the tires/ suspension issues to your other woes, plus the fact that 'tho you might be a "good wrench", you're definitely not a seasoned mechanic, you are almost certainly going to need intense on-site professional help too.
You are about to embark on a project whose cost will exceed the resale value of the car.
Consider using the "good wrench" to dismantle this car and sell it in bits, using the money to get a more realistic mode of transportation.
