Default Tribute V6 Idle very rough!!

Hello all,

My tribute idles very rough.. It just keeps going up and down, I have changed all plugs and it did nothing.

It is worse when it is cold, alot worse.. Once I have been driving for 30 mins or so it gets alot better but it still seems to be missing... When I am in drive with my foot on the gas its fine.. But at a traffic light it starts..

ANY ideas or if anyone had this happen to them..

Coils seem fine...

Thanks,

Sonds exactly like what my Mazda6 was doing before I was told I need a new engine. I believe our engines are identical. Let me know if you end up witht he same issue.

Is the check engine light on? Could be the EGR Valve, sounds just like my car. The valve can become caked with crap from exhaust and get stuck open or closed.

Same problem on my 2001, You need to change the Intake Manifold Seals (12 total) 6 for the upper runners and 6 for the lower. And at the same time the spark plugs. Is sucking air thru the gaps where the old seals are not seated, once the engine is warm the manifolds expand and seal the gaps (that is why it runs better).
