I have a 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback 2.5 . I started hearing some clanking or slight knocking on cold mornings backing out of garage when tapping the brakes. This was coming from under the driver's floorboard area.
I checked the brake pads, bushings and ball joints, the usual stuff. All that was snug and good. I then noticed some oil leaking around the drivers axle where it goes in the transmission. (Output shaft) I'm thinking that the noise
is somewhere in the transaxle or the output shaft itself if it's the type of seal that actually keeps the axle snug. Took it to dealer and had them look at the leak, they couldn't duplicate the knocking of course, but they said the leak is just normal seepage under
Mazda's guidelines and wouldn't do anything. What do you guys think, Leak or Seepage? I'll post pictures.
Thanks All!
