I have a Mazdaspeed 6 and I love the car, but I need to get new tires. I found only 1 all season tire that will do well in light snow. I found a better tread pattern, but the size is 225/45r18 instead of oem 215/45r18. My question is will the 225's work on my rim?

 

I think they'd work just fine....RX-8 wheels are 8" wide with 225s (I'm currently running those on my wife's 6), I've got 225's on 7" wide 17" rims with no problems, and I believe the Speed6 wheel is 7.5" wide.

The tire will be a little taller/wider overall and will cause your speedo to be off a little (not enough to worry about IMO) My wife's regular 6 doesn't rub with the 225's on 8" rims, I don't see where they would rub on a Speed6 on a narrower rim.
