Default Rusty wheel hubs RX8

Hi all,
Had my RX8 for a month now. Very pleased with it. It's only a year old with 2000 miles. Annoying thing is that the rear aluminiumwheel hubs which surround the brake disc are rusty.

Anyone have anygood ideas on cleaning thisoff ?

Thanks.

You could just clean them with a wire brush will only rust again and need redone. Need to be cleaned of rust and then repainted. Dealer will actually do this for you for free according to Mtip #3559. Here is the context of the Mtip.

Rust can be seen on the brake rotor hub area when looking between the
wheel spokes. The rust is most visible on vehicles equipped with 17"
chrome wheels.

1. Remove rust from hub(s) by sanding.
2. Clean/prep hub surface for primer.
3. Mask off brake rotor area.
4. Apply primer around entire hub area.
5. Once primer dries, apply a heat type silver paint to the affected
area to repair the vehicle.

Note: Replace the rotor(s) only if the affected area cannot be repaired
enough to satisfy the customer.

Contacted my dealer, salesman tried to fob me off saying that the rear hubs are made of cast iron and they always go rusty and it's not covered by the warranty. So I rang the works foreman who told me that the sales guy was talking crap and it is covered by warranty. Gonna get them painted black instead of the dull silver.

Pays to persevere.

Permatex Anti-Seize. Use sparingly, on the back of the wheels or on the face of the brake rotor hat. Along with some 100-150 grit sandapaper will solve your problem for a long, long time. I cannot state this strongly enough... use SPARINGLY, on either... or, but not both! I'd suggest the back of the wheel face myself. Believe me.
