I have recently purchased a Pick up type truck here in Philippines. It is a used model from Japan. It has a Mazda engine and a Nissan body. Title says Mazda R2, i am wondering if that is the same as the Mazda 6? The air filter system appears to be quite strange. It is located beneath the front bumper and the plastic piece is very unusual. Is the intake in the cab? Does irregular plastic device need to be cleaned ? Help! Thanks.

 

The 1.3 Litre is the size of the engine, the R2 must mean it is a rotary engine with two rotors. Some experts will correct me if I`m wrong. I definitely know that is a rotary Mazda engine designation.
