I have a 2007 mazda 3 and I just changed the power steering pump. The power steering is working fine but the light is still on in the dash. Does anyone know if I have to put a scanner on it or is there a way to turn the light off without the scanner?

 

did you have the pump replaced for the recall?

 

No. The car was hit on that side about 2 years ago amd the place never changed it.

 

the 07-09 Mazda 3 and 5 are under recall for power steering failure, this may be the case.
