I live in the desert where there are strange animals called pack rats that love to chew the wiring on my Miata. I just soldered about a dozen wires and got my car running again but the hold (nonflashing)and engine lights are on so I think that the transmission wires have been chewed. This happened last year and cost me $500 to repair since thetransmission had to beaccessed for the repair. My question is, what if I just buy a plug and play harness that costs about $160 and ask the mechanic to install it. Would it still cost a lot in labor?Or, could I install it myself? Also, are there additional wires inside the transmission that a pack rat could get to that are not part of the harness? Thanks for any help. MM
