Default Oil change help

I had to get a oil change at a none mazda dealer... The problem being they didn't know how much oil to put back in it because of not knowing how to read the dipstick right I guess. Also not alot of foreign cars in my area. My question is does any one know what the proper amount is? I don't want to hurt the car by driving it over the weekend until I can get to the dealer. Thanks for the help

Default RE: Oil change help

As long as the oil level is on the dipstick and not way overfull you should be just fine to drive over the weekend luvwinnie. Oil amount depends upon which engine you have but if they put in 4.5-5.5 qts. you will be fine overall. Level does not have to be exact. A little more or less will not cause you any problems. Now if they only put in 2 qts or over 7 then would be a bit concerned but am sure they would have enought common sense to not go to that extreme.
