Wife and I are moving to the Philippines so I sold my Colorado and her CX-5. Carvana gave us amazing prices on our vehicles so I sold them, didn't want to miss this crazy used car price bubble. I needed something to drive for the next 6 weeks so I bought the first $1,800 vehicle I ran across which happens to be a 2001 MPV with 130K miles. The engine runs very well and it doesn't look too bad but the tranny has issues. The 'O/D Off' light is flashing, it shifts hard and doesn't shift into overdrive. The worst bump is when it shifts into 2nd gear so I take off in 2 and then slip it into D. I've read that the speed sensor can cause this but the speedometer works properly and so does the cruse control, does that make sense if it is a speed sensor? I've already sent my tools on ahead to the Philippines so I won't be wrenching on anything, I'm just curious if it is worth having the local garage install a speed sensor and perhaps change the fluid. I just need it to run another 1,000 miles or so.
