Navigation at Night
I have a frustration with the Mazda navigation that I wonder if 1) has anyone found a solution and 2) are you running into the same problem.
The night setting for the navigation system works well in town. The screen changes from the brighter setting to showing the background in black and the roads in a gray. Everything is easy to read.
When I drive out of an incorporated town, the roads remain the same shade of gray and the background is various shades of gray, mostly the same shade as the roads. It looks like civilization ends at the edge of town. I called Mazda and they told me to adjust the brightness. The only thing that helps is the day setting which lights up the entire car interior but at least I can see the roads on the GPS.
I suspect the shades of gray (which look like clouds) is an attempt to show elevation so it might be better for people at a higher or lower elevation. We are at roughly 1,000 feet.
Does anybody have a solution?
