Default MEDIA button on stereo...What's it for???

Sorry to ask what maybe an obvious question. Reviewed the manual but it's not listed. The Miata has a MEDIA button (SAT, AM/FM, CD and MEDIA). What does that serve? Also, does it have an auxillary jack so that I can connect an MP3 player. If so, where is it connected. The stereio is the one with the single CD player (not the 6 CD changer) and 4 speakers (not 7).

Thanx

Default RE: MEDIA button on stereo...What's it for???

The MEDIA button is as yet unused on the audio unit for the Miata. Same button is also present on the 3 and 6 on 2006 MY vehicles but so far have no function outside of changing the ambient temp display from 'C to 'F. Am sure that will have some meaning in later released products or Mazda would not introduce. Maybe allowing some other type of plug in media such as MP3 player or ipod.

The Media button on my '06 3 is documented in the owners manual as the select switch for an optional tape player.
