Default mazda doesn't crank

I have a Mazda 626, 4 cyl, 2001. The car doesn't crank when I turn on the ignition. The starter motor/solenoid checked out OK at an auto parts store (O'Reilly's). When I turn the key I can hear the solenoid click but the starter motor won't turn. Any suggestions as to the next step?

Thanks,

Vince

make sure the battery is good and the connections are clean and tight. if all checks good then it's probably the starter.

Low voltage or a poor ground would be my guess.

Check both the ground wire on the starter as well as your battery cables for any signs of corrosion build-up.

eliminate first that the starter isn't faulty buy simply giving it a few gentle taps on the side with a hammer or something else... if the car starts after that... theres your answer...
