Default Mazda 3i power steering fluid replacement

I took my 2006 Mazda 3i to the dealer for the 30,000 mile service. The mechanic at the dealership said the power steering fluid was starting to discolor and should be replaced. He wants to charge over $200 to suck out the old fluid and replace it with new fluid.I told the dealer not to replace it yet, and went home and read the owners manual. The owners manual says the power steering fluid never needs to be exchanged, just topped off when it gets low. Is this just adealer scam to make a quick $200 on the trusting and unsuspecting vehicle owners, or should I be concerned? If it's a scam, I feel like writing to Mazda headquarters and complaining.

It"s a scam. I have never heard of power steering fluid that went bad.
And also, I have read many times, including my own owners manual that said the same thing.
I would write Mazda about it.
