Intake cam shaft position timing over retarded (bank 1)
Hey all, I have a 2007 mazda cx 7 who's check engine light just came on. The error message was Intake cam shaft position timing over retarded (bank 1).
I did some googling and it looks like this could be a couple of things including:
Incorrect camshaft timing Wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve control solenoid system Continuous oil flow to VCT piston chamber Failed timing valve control solenoid (stuck open)
Is there any way to narrow this down without taking it in to be diagnosed further? Is this something that I, a seasoned googler and somewhat handy layman, could do?
Any other thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
