Default How bad would it be?

How bad would it be if I up the size on my tires/rims? To 14 or 15'?

My 323 is rated for 13' but I have seen people put 14 even 16' tires and rims on theres.

Is this bad for the car?

just wondering I mean I can get some rims for cheap in 13' just wondering if any one knows.

Upgrading your wheels is not "bad" for your car. I used to sell tires and wheels.

The specifications for your car is probably 175/70/13, correct? If so, you should have no problem upgrading to a 15" wheel. Just make sure the wheel dimension will fit. The new tire size for the 15" wheels would be 195/50/15. If you wanted to do a 14" wheel, the new tire size would be 185/60/14. I have never seen any problem with upgrading a wheel to 2 sizes larger. I did it on my 91 Toyota MR2. Most tire places will do a "test fit" for you as well. The only problem you could even possibly run into with the larger upgrade is the tire rubbing in the wheel-well when you have the steering wheel turned as far as it can go...both ways. If the tire touches the wheel well, then it's too large. I think 16" is going a little too extreme for the car...but a 15" wheel should fit just fine.

On my 87 323 that had 175/70/13 tires on it, I went to 16" tires that were 205/40/16 with no problem. They were a bit wider, but the height was almost the same, less than a 1/4" difference.

Cool, I am so happy I just keep getting good news!!!

Ok well I am trying to find some pretty basic rims for the car. I know that thats what I want to get.

I am hoping to find some, somewhere around 60-80 a pop. I hope I can find some that cheap.

If any one knows of any running at that price let me know ok?

Also if I get some rims do I have to put a serten tire on them?

I am only asking because I have never had rims befor.

Thanks for the help guys!

There is no "certain" tire for your car per say. If you go with bigger wheels, you must get the appropriate tire size as stated above by AlyssaC. If you somewhere like Discount Tire, they can inform you of the choices better.

This is the way I was taught to do the upgraded tire size.

If the current tire size is 175/70/13...you do simple math. If the person is upgrading their wheel size to a 15"...that's two sizes larger...correct?

So...it goes like this...

175 + 20 = 195
70 - 20 = 50
13 + 2 = 15

New tire size would be 195/50/15

So, if the person were doing ONE wheel size upgrade...so, in his case, to a 14"...it would be like this...

175 + 10 = 185
70 -10 = 60
13 + 1 = 14

New tire size is 185/60/14

Does that make sense?
