Default Heater/Ac Problem in 93 Mx-3

So it's winter, and i need to figure this out. In my Mazda (93 mx-3), no matter what setting i put it on (floor, defrost, top, etc) it only blows out the top vents, especially just the center 2. Anyone have a clue? I really would like to avoid taking it somewhere, i don't wanna pay half of what i paid for the car for something that may be simple.

Stick your head under the dash and move the controls, look for a cable that has come loose from the door flap hinge.

I just got all the panels off and as far as i can see ALL the cables are connected. Anything beyond this, i have NO clue about. What should i do?

I however, did get it to make a different sound when i pushed it all the way to defrost a few times, i couldn't feel it coming out of the defrost but it made a different sound. I haven't been able to reproduce the sound in awhile.

I don't know if this will help or not, but maybe it will to a trained eye unlike mine:

You should be able to stick your head under the dash and see where the cable attachs to the door flap hinges on the side of the heater box while moving the selector,if they dont move and its connected at the heater control panel then the other end of the cable has fallen off/broken the hinge or the door flap is broken/in a bind from a foreign obect in the dash like a pencil.

Okay, let me say that i have no clue about these cars. I don't know where the heater control panel is at. Where exactly do i need to stick my head under?

Stick your head to the gas pedal and look up toward the back of the radio for the left side and stick your head under the glove box on the right side and look toward the back of the radio. The HUGE black plastic box behond the dash is the heater /ac box.

I made a little progress today. I stuck my head under the dash and found a lever switch by the black box you were talking about. I moved this up and i was then able to get air out of all 4 vents. As soon as i would turn the temperature to warm, it would put this lever back and i would only get hot air out of the 2 middle vents again. I then looked to the other side and moved that lever up, and magically i got air to come out of the defroster. As soon as i move the mode selector out of defrost, it will pull that lever back and i won't be able to get it back unless i manually change it.
