Default Engine oil for mazda 3 1.6 petrol 2004

Hi guys.
Was wonder if you can give me advice.
I've bought the car recently so I need to change the oil.
I don't know which one to choose. In the manual it says 5w20, but I read that 5w30 will be better option. Is that true?
Also if lol go for a 5w30 does it have to be fully synthetic or not.
I'm driving about 150km/week would like to use that car as long as possible (next few years?).
Have no idea what kind of oil previous owner was using...
Thanks for the help.

Where in the world are you? & what climate/climates do you drive in?
Where I've worked with Mazda we've used 5w30 & 5w40 premium/ fully-synthetic, with 10w30 as a cheaper semi-synthetic.

Hi. Thanks for the reply.
I leave in Ireland. The climate is mild and moist. No temp extremes. Average 9-19C.

Going buy the mileage you estimated, I would go with 10w30 and change it every 6 months.
