Evening

My 2006 3 Sport has developed a hum. Its not a vibration type noise that could be rattling plastics, its an electrical hum that comes on with the ignition. Its present when the stereo is off, and air con/blowers. If i had to guess, it almost sounds like the system is trying to do something, and failing. Or something

I have tried everything and I cant isolate a reaon for it, ie I cant pinpoint what it is related to. Its coming from the general stereo area, and is intermittent

Anyone had similar?

 

Is there a cd stuck in it?

 

I'll double check but I dont think so, best suggestion so far

 

you should get a hum for about a second when you switch the ignition on as this is thw fuel system priming. If its that hum continually it could be the fuel system relay
