hi guys,heres a teaser for you.have a 1999 e2200 van, non turbo, on 105000 miles.ran really sweet until last weekend when I thought I would give it a birthday and change fuel filter.due to facing a 1200 mile trip.ran fine for a day then started missing and farting.i know youre all going to say "dodgy filter" thought that myself so put back old filter. ran fine for 5 miles then started playing up the same. symptems are. slightly down on power,belching out black smoke,erratic running,20% less fuel economy. tried another new filter but still the same. have noticed for a while there has been a slight popping in the exhaust pipe which has gotton worse. anyone had the same issue and what was the cause.dont suspect valves or timing as engine runs fine for a short period after changing each and every filter.heres hoping you guys have the answer. cheers brian
