There are some applications or availability and even cost that finding a drilled rotor/Disc for your Mazda is not available. But the process of drilling is actually easy if you have a simple drill press and inexpensive chamfering bit. The purpose is purely for the looks and not for any claimed performance value.
In my example and DIY project the Company CorkSport did not offer a drilled and slotted rotor/disc combo for my application, so I did my own DIY drilling
The most time-consuming aspect of this project was correctly to measure and spacing and angle marks I would need drill the holes.
The chamfering smoothing drilled into the hole bores drilled will add to the support of preventing stress (spidering) fracturing common with many suppliers that offer drilled rotors by not doing this final process.
After the DIY drilled and finish hole, I clean the project with disc brake cleaner (I prefer CRC) and then rattle-can caliper high temperature paint to all non-disc pad contact surfaces.
The end results IMHO compliments CorkSport Caliper and also any Mazda OEM caliber.
If any member does this DIY project please post your pictures.
ENJOY
