Exclamation Cx7 p2100, p0220

I think there is a gremlin in the system. This is what I have done so far. Removed Throttle body, cleaned, inspected and tested. Removed accelerator pedal .. same. Removed ECM, opened and inspected. I've tried clearing the codes and it will say "erase successful" but the codes are permanent. Here is what is happening .. Most times I can start up the car, wait for rpms to settle and then drive with absolutely no issues. It seems however, when starting and not waiting long enough, it immediately goes into limp mode. Also, had a big downpour of rain yesterday and it would go into limp mode no matter what I did. I will next check the connection to the TCM and check out the MAF sensor. Anyone out there ever have these issues? It's an old car (2010) but we love it and it is in great shape otherwise. Can't afford a big bill right now. Please help.

Update: I removed the MAF and it was caked with dirt on one side. Carefully cleaned and replaced. I haven't been able to reproduce the problem since. One thing I forgot to mention was that the engine light was also on solid. Now there are no lights but the codes remain.
