Default car alarm in a 6

Got a Mazda 6 that developed an over sensitive alarm. Has gone off 5 times in the last 24 hours for no apparent reason. Never had this sort of trouble before. It will shut off with the the remote, but has become very annoying.Any thoughts?

Check to make sure the hood switch is closing fully. It is located up by or part of the hood latch. Has two wires to it. Gray with Red stripe and Black with Red stripe. Just unplug it and see if the alarm quits going off at random.

Should not be a factor with factory alarm system. Aftermarket can sometimes develop problems after a battery disconnect. Do you know if alarm is OE or not??

The alarm is factory issue, not aftermarket. Two days after the battery installation, the car went on a 700+ mile trip and when it arrived is when the alarm problems developed.
