a/c-heat fan problems

Default a/c-heat fan problems

hey i have a 05 mazda3 2.0L. the fan for ac and heat doesnt work all the time. sometimes it turns on right away other times it wont turn on for 45 mins after driving. whether ac on or off the fan doesnt work properly. its an intermittent problem but most of the time takes forever to turn on. please help me, i dont like driving in a sauna...

You can startwith replacing the blower motor resistor. The part is only about 20 bucks, so it's a cheap method of trial and error, although installation might be a little pricey if you're not doing it yourself. You can also bring it in to a dealer and they could check it out, there's a good chance it's still under warranty.

where is the blower resistor located on 2005 mazda 3i 2.0?

If the fan does not work at all i usually bang on the bottom of the fan with my hand first. If it starts running then the brushs in the motor are usually the culprut. That circuit has a circuit breaker in the fuse panel instead of a fuse also. They can go bad but it's uncommon.
