Default AFS system

2014 CX5. The AFS Light is flashing which means the AFS lights are not working. Took it to the Mazda dealership and they said the battery was bad causing the AFS System to not work. The battery test they did indicated a battery fail but this doesn’t make sense. Please explain.

Why do you think a bad battery wouldn't cause issues on sophisticated electronics?

Once the car is started the battery is charged by the alternator so all the electronics should run. The alternator has been checked and is fine. I have had the battery tested in two facilities. Mazda says it fails and a car shop says it’s fine.
Her is the Mazda batter check

A new lead acid battery may cost less than another check-up, unless they're complimentary. I'm unsure what an acceptable range for CCA's is, but yours at best came in 150 below indicated. If the battery is also 5+ years old I'd say that's enough reason to justify replacement and see if your problem is solved.

I get your argument about the alternator overriding significance of battery health, but am not familiar with the AFS lighting system or complexity of its circuit. Until this moment I didn't know it existed 😂 That's cool!!
