Default 88 RX7 Warning Lights - Help Please.

Hey All - Any Help / Advice - Much Appreciated!

1988 RX7 SE - No Turbo -

Last night I started it up. All the warning lights came on as well as the "shift Up" light under the mph gauge, however no clock light working.

These warnign lights stayed on the whole drive. Again this morning, lights all on while driving.

Car is driving ok though.

What is up? What should I do?

THANK YOU ALL FOR HELP

a bit of a conundrum, but i am a bit of a conumdrumer. considering that all of the lights came on, i would think that it is an electrical problem. start by trying this, turn everything off in the car and don't turn it on. pull the positive battery cable and put it back on. look for even the slightest spark when you put it back on. if it sparks, there is a short. next thing to check is relays. there is a relay box under the hood, but the only thing that sucks is that our relays don't have clear backs. one final option is the ecu. could very well be the ecu in this situation, but i think i may have a spare laying around. i will have to have you check the part number for me if you need it.

second generation rx7's have kind of complicated electrical systems since not all of the electronics link back to the ecu. if they did, you could just test for the problem or trace it back to the ecu.

Thanks for your input

It turned out to be the alternator belt not charging the battery well enough
