Post 323f headlights issue

hi. i have a w plate / 2000 mazda 323f. i am an experienced mechanic but having problems finding the info i need to repair my fault. the sidelights work correctly, the main beams work correctly, however the normal headlamps / dip beams will not turn on. i have tested the switch which seems to be working correctly putting out lives on different pins dependant on position of switch. the relays all click over (including when the headlamps are switched on the correct relay switches) also swapped a perfectly workin horn relay with the headlamps relay and it stll switched fine. The problem lies with not having the correct lives / earths happening at the connectors to headlamps themselves. (also tried new bulbs). assuming the problem is between fuse / relay board and the headlamp connectors, but need a pointer or wiring diagram to trace the fault. any ideas or help would be much appreciated? cheers
