Hello,
i may be needing internal engine parts for this CX-7 ala a crank or a short block. these parts are turning out to be tricky to find so im wondering if this engine is found in another car (under a different badge) to which i can expand my search area!

Ok guys correct me if I am wrong, the 2.3L used in this car is the same as the 2.3L in the Mazdaspeed3 and Mazdaspeed6, I think from what I can research that it is also the Ford Duratec 23 which is in the '03-'07 Focus, '05-'08 Escape/Mariner/Tribute, '06-'09 Fusion/Milan and '01-'11 Ranger/B-Series. From what I can tell, and I quote, "Beginning in 2004, Ford dropped the old 4-cylinder Zetec engines in favor of Mazda's MZR design. This includes the 2.0 L Duratec 20 the 2.3 L Duratec 23 and the all new 2.5 L Duratec 25." So its possible they all share some common parts but not all of the 2.3s were turboed so if you grab a crank from a NA engine it might not be the same strength.

i just bought this 2007 CX 7 awd w a blown motor! the lady hit up a curb or something and broke the oil pan, and subsequently oil drain seized up the motor!
so for now im hopping for good cylinder walls and just in need for a bottom end! but we shall see when i pull this puppy out!
best case i can rebuild. which is what im hopping for of course.
