Hi I have a 94 B4000 4.0, 4X4, auto that has developed a couple of problems over the last couple of weeks. First, when cold, the transmission will not shift out of first unless I move the lever down to 2nd, after which, if I move it back to drive, it downshifts back into first. After a couple of tries it will go ahead and work normally. This occurs even after a 15 minute warm up every morning.

Second, My engine runs absolutely great, plenty of power and smooth as a sewing machine, but for some reason my last two tanks of gas have eachnetted me 7.33-8.25 MPG!!! I'm spending a FORTUNE on gas, but there aren't any symptoms. Help!
