Hello

I have a 07 MS3 with less than 29K miles on it. About 3-4 weeks ago, after getting to my location I smelled this burnt metal smell after stopping for about 2-3 mins. Today while changing lanes getting onto a freeway entrance, I heard a loud pop and then started smelling the burnt metal again. My AC wasn't working and then the front started to smoke from through the vents and from the engine hood. I pulled over and looked and toward the left of the engine where the timing belt was, I could see the smoke. I'm planning to get this checked out tomorrow, but was curious if this is an AC issue or something bigger. I don't race or drive the car hard at all.

Please advise. Will it be okay to drive to my dealership which is about 15 mins away?

 

Also when the car runs there's a noticeable sound which sounds like a timing belt issue
