Hi.
I was wondering if anyone knows how to tell if an '05 3 is a special edition or not by the VIN?? Is there an indicator in there somewhere that shows it's a Special Edition --- or maybe the color? If there's a way to tell if it's carbon gray mica, that would narrow it down...
I tried calling Mazda customer service and they said they don't know the general difference in the VIN for the special editions, but if I call with a particular VIN they can tell me if it is or if it's not an SP.

Give me the VIN (via PM only, please), and I can research it for you. Without a VIN, it would be difficult to tell sometimes.

 

The only way that I was able to verify on mine, was from the window sticker. I needed the info to order
the front mask for it. The hood on the S does curve and become part of the front grill. It is just straight.
