Default Dash Cam Powered By Cigarette Lighter

Is it ok to leave my dash cam plugged into the cigarette lighter? Will that burn anything out or drain the battery? The dash cam shuts off when the vehicle comes to a stop & turns on once in motion. It's a 2014 CX-5 Grand Touring. Thx.
