Quick, but effective way to wash a car?
Okay, I'm about to give my car a little bath. Nothing major because it's really not that dirty. I was wondering if anybody had any tips about how to get sand and dirt off the car without touching it. I've rinsed my car enough times by now to know that it's not coming off just by spraying water on it. So what do I do? Any cloth would run a small to moderate risk of scratching, right? But there's enough sand, dust and fine dirt to make me want to make sure I can get it off. I basically just want to clean the bottom of my car. The upper parts are doing fine, aside from the dust that will build up regardless of how much I clean it. The lower part is where I have trouble. I will rinse it with a garden hose, and the sand just kind clings on for dear life. Is there some kind of technique you would recommend that would clean the dirt off without hurting the paint? Washing my car is such an ordeal, it's the only thing that make me wish I bought an old beater for a car. I can't wash it as often as most car enthusiasts suggest, I practically live at the hospital I work at, but when I can do a light cleansing, I usually try and I've got two days off so I'm going for something effective this time around. Seems like rinsing does absolutely nothing but I refuse to bring it to those garages because they don't seem to care about my car the way I do.. or the way anyone does. And that's petrifying. And coin operated ones have zero effect. I want to do something minimally invasive but effective enough to get the dirt off. I never thought it'd be this tricky, but it sure is. Can anybody help me out? The key is minimally invasive yet EFFECTIVE. I prefer not to SCRUB it at all because that might do something horrid. But water isn't cutting it either, so what gives??
umm coin operated car washes do work if you do it right dont use their brush though, do use the presoak and just rinse it off though.... and nothing wrong with the automatic ones as long as their brushless, they dont do a perfect job but unless its a show car just use the ell cheapo 3 dollar rinse, beats a dirty car if you ask me... just my opinion though
I'd recommend:
1)Using a Clay Bar type cleaner system. ($15-20 at local auto parts store) It will take awhile to do it, but you only need to do it about every 6 months. Once you clean with the clay bar and wax it, you will have a much easier time just spraying the car off.
2) Ignoring Mazdasucks, or Ma2dasucks, or anyone else acting like an idiot. Soon he or they will get bored with bothering people on the internet. There is a little red hand at the bottom of his posts. Click it.You'll see that he's posting, but not what he posts. I could care less at this point.

You should be able to turn off your PM function for awhile. I think his point is no matter what you do he can get away with it for awhile. He's right, but doesn't make him any less of a douchebag.
Anyone with so little life that they choose to fill their time with this crap should be pitied. They'll end up slinging burgers for a living.
