RE: 1.8 litre tuning
what country is your car located, in the US the 6 only comes with a 2.3L and 3.0L engine. As of now, i dont know of any kind of chip/tunning for the for the computer, because of Mazda's design, the computer will re-learn all of its original settings, from what i understand.

RE: 1.8 litre tuning
I have never heard of a 1.8 L. But I have seen a few chips. Here is the sites for them:
Unichip
Thats actually the only one I could find. Not sure if this one is plug and play, or if you have to splice wires. Id rather go for the plug and play so if you need to go back to the dealer for a warranty issue you can unplug it.

RE: 1.8 litre tuning
there is a company in europe that chips the car, think it's 1.8 and 1.6 or something engines. i already deleted the email they returned saying they didn't do any of the engines available in the states. i found the company over on msprotege.com or Mazda3Forums.com...can't remember which one though...but it is there
