'03 Tribute Steering Wheel Squeaking

My wife's '03 Tribute LX V6 has a somewhat annoying steering wheel squeak. I have read other threads online and aren't fnding a real answer to the problem. The Mazda dealership didn't want to touch the problem. The vehicle is air bag equipped. Can someone offer some help on how to get rid of the sound. It's not power steering pump related. Just a squeak in the steering wheel. Thanks!

I had that on my 01 Tribby. I squirted some liquid lubricant down the steering column, and that seem to fix it (from the cab)
