Default How many is too much?

Hey group. Im about to buy my first car. I dont know alot about Mazda engines but the Rx7 has always been one of my favs. So I need some advice. I found a 1985 Rx7 GLS through a friend that cant pass smog. He is selling it for $200 so its not much of a loss to me, but the motor has 223,000 miles on. Car is still in pretty good shape. Ive driven it and it didnt seem like anything was really wrong, but i dont know much about them anyway so I wouldnt be able to tell. But how many miles can a Rotary take? The first Owner was a old lady who baby'd it until it couldnt pass smog anymore and sold it to the owner who has it now.

Any advice is appreciated*

well i got my 84 rx7 for free and its costed me about $1100 to get it running again my only suggestion is if you get it give it a good tune up ya know new spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, and an oil change and oil filter and long as the car is properly maintained it will last till the body falls apart but from experience parts are kinda hard to find though

I had an 81 with 260,000 kms... and it started burning oil so much that I had to clean the plugs off daily or it wouldnt start up after driving somewhere... this was a good example of what happenes to one if a dude that dosnt care about it and drives it into the ground.... the previous owner was a younger guy and didnt spend anything on it and just drove it until it died... I paid $20 for the car... so how could I lose on that... I bought parts at the wreckers and fixed it up a bit...but then after only 1 year the engine started fouling plugs so bad it couldnt be driven anymore...

for $200 i dont think you can lose... unless your tight on room in your yard... like trailermech said in the previous post..parts are not easy to find... so you caould do okay selling off a few parts to get back your money if it came down to it...
