Default '95 Protege shift noise

I have a '95 Protege LX, 1.5 liter, 5 speed. Car has about 108K miles. Lately, it's started making this sort of raspy noise when I shift. It happens when I depress and release the clutch pedal. It only does it when the car is cold and disappears after a few shifts. Only does it on 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Does not occur when car is in neutral and the clutch pedal is depressed. Car shifts and drives fine otherwise. Anybody ever had this happen? Could it be something major?

maybe the gear ball bearing below your car is a bit chiped off , change it and everythig will be fine , if u r unlucky , u have to change the whole shaft like mine too much chip off , u can choose not to chage anything too as it wont affect much , and it is still safe :>
