2014 Mazda 6 GT Rims fit CX-5 GT?
Hi, I currently own a 2014 Mazda 6 GT and I love the rims on my car. I am planning on getting my daughter a 2015 CX-5 next year for when she turns 16. I really don't like the look of the wheels on the CX-5 and was wondering if I were to get another set of the Mazda 6 GT wheels, would they be a good fit for the CX-5 since both vehicles weigh about the same. Thoughts and opinions please.

I assume you're talking about replacing the 17" rims on a CX-5 Sport or Touring model. Yes the 19" Mazda 6 GT wheels will work fine. There is a 5mm differential in the offset from one to the other, but that is insignificant. Why not pick up a set of CX-5 19" rims? They're exactly the same (I believe) as the 6 wheels and they have the correct offset. Now, as for the sanity of handing over the keys to a brand new $30k vehicle to a 16 year old on her birthday, that's a whole different matter!

HAHAHA, Yea it scares the bajeebers out of me, but she has a great head on her shoulders and I hope that it means well with her first car as well. It is the only one daddy is going to buy for her. As for what you said, I am not sure if the GT 19" rims for the CX-5 are the same as the GT 19" rims for the Mazda 6. If they are the same, then I may need to second guess this idea. Maybe it is just the way they look on the CX-5 compared to the Mazda 6. I love how they look on my 6. I might need to take a closer look now.

I believe there are two finishes available on the 6 wheels, regular silver and gun metal silver. Only the straight silver is available on the CX-5 19". I think the wheels themselves are the same or very close in design.

Yea, I believe you are right. My rims on my 6 aren't silver, they are more of gun metal like you say. Maybe that is what is throwing my eye off with the CX-5. I still like the gun metal color better. Nicely enough, it sort of hides brake dust a little bit too, not that I would really know. I wash my car once every 2 weeks. HAHAHA I just love this new design to the 6. Love the look of it and its stance. Anyways, thank you for some insight on this. I will have to look into it some more and try to get a second look at this detail as the time comes and see what really looks best.

Here's a picture of a CX-5 19" wheel from another forum site for you to compare to your 6 wheel. BTW, this guy wants $1000 for a set of 4 with 4-5k miles on the tires. He's probably negotiable. He's in Grand Rapids, MI.

You are absolutely right. I walked by a 6 in a parking lot yesterday and noticed the difference. IMO the 6 wheel is the better looking. It is also .5" wider and the offset is 45mm rather than the 50mm of the CX-5 rim. Good catch!

Yea, I thought I saw some type of difference there, and I agree, the 6 rim looks better. I will definitely look into purchasing a set of 6 GT rims when the time comes. I wonder if that would cause mazda to void out warranty? Hmmmm now there is a question. HAHA
