Anyone have an issue with only the close button not working? This is the button on the underside of the liftgate on the inside, to close it. Liftgate closes fine using the dash button, keyfob, and outside button near the license plate. Anyone have a p/n for this switch?

 

That's very similar symptom to the CX-5 liftgate/ battery drain issue. There's a TSB but CX-9 is not included. Look for water intrusion or corrosion behind the switch. There is a small plate you can pry off with a spudger. Google 7sec Mazda liftgate reset.
