Thanks, it makes sense now. There is a coolant tsb that extends the warranty on that coolant leaking issue to 10 years 120 k miles.
what doesn’t make sense is why extend the warranty on one tsb but not the other.

This is the one I’m referring to in OP.

Has Mazda ever released the stats on the cylinder head issue. Any place you would recommend looking into the issue. Sounds like Mazda is being super secretive about it. Model year 2020 cx5, I see the tsb covers 2018-2023. Non turbo.

Hey Callisto -
I've been lurking here for a bit and have appreciated your detailed posts - so thanks !
I'm getting ready to do a fluid and filter change on our '17 CX-5 transmission and am interested in your opinion... Car has 65K on it...
Am considering using the Castrol Transmax fluid (instead of Mazda FZ) and changing the filter on the first go. I would then do two more fluid-only changes with Transmax.
My question is - would you immediately proceed to do the fluid change 2X more so that most of the fluid is Castrol immediately or ... would it be crazy to do the next two fluid changes (with Transmax) at the next two oil changes (5K mile intervals)?
I do my own work, so I can go either way, but spacing it out would probably be a bit easier.
Thanks in advance,
Steve

@Callisto I wanted to know if you had any experience with replacing and installing a new tail light for the Mazda cx-5 2023 model. I am unable to find where to unplug the cord that powers the LED for the light. I am trying to repair it myself because insurance is at an all-time high. If you can help or know anyone else who can help me please reply back. Feel free to also email me at Acfolk919@gmail.com

Well you should have the ECU scanned vis the diagnostic connector. It may be seemly the need to re-flash the ECU or get the latest OEM update. It may be a connection issue (I doubt but mention it) at the sensor or the sensor itself?

Either way get the ECU scanned at least.

Hey, Saw you know a lot about Mazda and I have been having some issues with mine. I have a Mazda CX-5 2015 model. All maintenance things have been up to date and I have been checking oil levels regularly, but a couple of days ago, while driving, the oil pressure red light came on. We stopped, checked the oil levels and it was up to max, so everything was good, turned the car back on and it was gone. 4 days later, while driving the light came back again, we turned off the car, checked the levels and everything was fine, turned the car back on and it was gone. What do you think the issue is? Could it be the software needing an update or a real filter or pump or even a sensor needing a fix? We bought the car 6 months ago and the oil was changed right before that, since then we passed about 8 000 km.
