Strongly considering a 2026 CX- 5
Hi all- we are currently in the market for a new vehicle and the Mazda CX 5 checks all our boxes (actual transmission, safety record, reliability and ergonomics) I have never owned a Mazda before- couple of Subarus, couple of Nissan trucks and Ford and Chevys.....we went to one dealer today to begin looking and the red caught my wife's eye so going to be shopping next week. Look forward to the journey.

To answer your question here is what 2026 owners are currently reporting.
Predictability score is 73/100 (which is normal for a first-year model/new design).
I would either wait or as others have suggested check out a left over 2025.
That said the 2026 comes with a full warranty and if it is what you like you are covered.

- Software/telematics glitches are the most common early issues.
- Infotainment system improvements come with trade-offs in physical control convenience.
- Fuel economy is competitive but not class-leading.
- Mechanical reliability appears consistent with historical Mazda patterns, but first-year models may have minor early production issues.
- No recalls have been reported, which is a positive indicator for manufacturing quality

Mazda does not give out program updates this early for newly released models. I checked this morning for service update regarding programing flashes. They are not available yet for independent service shops.
I have 3 local Mazda's in my area and just getting off the cell talking to the third one this morning the question was is there an unusual number of service warranty or customer complaints with the 2026 model CX-5. All three service manager answered the same thing...NO MORE THEN any other 2026 model Mazda.
This can be verified by contacting most dealerships in the USA . Mazda corp does not give out service number history mostly because many are simply customers that don't know how to read their owners manuals but are counted as service related even if it is a basic how-to-do or what is that light for.
