1986 Mazda 323 DX (not my actual car) DX stands for De Luxe. I never figured out how it deserved this designation. No A/C, hand cranked windows, 5 speed manual, form 1986 to 1995 and 105000 miles. The longest trip we did was with 4 adults from Iowa to Toronto to Pennsylvania to North Carolina and back to Iowa. We kept a fly swatter handy because if you have no AC you have no other way to get rid of these critters. It was the most reliable vehicle I ever had because what you don't have doesn't brake. And because I liked it so much I bought the Protege as secondary vehicle.
