Description:
When I first got it 9-2010. It had a problem with engine bogging out at idle. Problem passing smog. I was completely CLUELESS why 4 of 8 readiness monitors (self tests) would NEVER complete. plus barely fails the NOX level. Also had heavy "pinging" in engine, rough idle, also bad gas mileage. 26 mpg. (supposed to be 30mpg) I was completely puzzled for whats making all those things happen. I thought the car was just too old, and nothing could fix it. Takes me 5 months of constant at home diagnose to fiqure out WHY! All I did was clean the MAF sensor, and throttle body! Doing that little $5 job (a little thing like that) magically FIXED 5 HUGE THINGS! rough idle, pinging, self tests COMPLETE!, improved MPG, and increase the horse power! And ultimately PASS smog! As of now 3-2011 I still have a problem with starting when its cold. Takes me 5 months of constant at home diagnose (and the works) as well to find out that its the engine thats defective. (valve head are probably worn. Low compression when cold) Also I found the leaking ignition problem! 2 months to fiqure out. It was just a crack on the prong area of coil pack. Covered it up, No more leaks! No more bogging on idle.
